Chicken Wonton Soup

This is sounding so good to me right now. After reviewing the recipe though I came across an ingredient that is more than likely a typo for soy sauce unless their really is such a thing as sour sauce. OR maybe it means sour cream - probably not. Anyway, Jenny, would you mind settling this or explain to me what sour sauce is. :)

Also, I assume that the filling ingredients end with the wonton skins? Looks YUMMY!

I know I am not Jenny, but I did call her about that when I was typing the book up and she said it is truly a "sour sauce". I am not sure where you buy it. Maybe the Asian aisle of the supermarket. I wonder if there is a substitution or if it can be left out?

Hi Becky, yes there is something out there called sour sauce. I have yet to find it at Fred Meyer. I'm sure it's up here somewhere whith all the Asian markets. I think that hoisin sauce or oyster sauce would make a fine substitute. Also, I like chicken but, not ground so I substitute ground pork or shredded chicken.

Thanks, good to know. I tried to find it at Walmart but they didn't have it. They didn't have wanton skins either so I might just have to wait on that one. :)
