Suggestion

I have a thought :) I am currently working on planning meals for a week and thought it would be so much easier if I had some ideas (we are tired of our same-ol stuff). SO, if you could all just post all the meals you had this week, then we would have a nice long list and would have almost enough to make up a whole months worth! I have also noticed we have a ton of desserts on here, but as I scrolled through, we don't have as many meals :) I have come up with almost 5 weeks worth, but not quite and I need lunch ideas too. Happy eating!

What a great idea, D!

Monday: Stroganoff with egg noodles and broccoli

Tuesday: Hot dogs and Pizza (take-out) Wouldn't recommend this one, it was gross. So why post it? I wanted to share.

Wednesday: Ham Sandwiches with carrot and celery sticks (oh, wait, we skipped the veggies and replaced them with Little Debbie pies) It was a very busy night.

Thursday: Okay, I've gone to the store and have something to feed my family now. We're having Miso Soup (new recipe), Chinese Coleslaw and Pot Stickers.

Friday: We're having Fajitas served with Spanish Rice and flan.

Saturday: Beef Teriyaki Merinade (in the book) served over rice with a green salad.

Sunday: Roast with mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, peas and carrots.

I got an awesome book for Christmas that gives you a years worth of weekly menus. It includes the recipes and a how to as if you were a newly wed. They are familiar recipes too, written by a women from Kerns who has been cooking for fifty years and finally sifted through all her stuff and put it together and is now sharing her favorites (which make a years worth of menus). Unfortunately, I don't buy meat here except for the chicken at Cosco by Tyson - so a lot of the menus I can't make until I go home.
BUT since you don't have the book, I will send you a couple of months worth that I put together.

What is the name of the cookbook? It sounds like one I'd like. I love cooking the meal, but am not a huge fan of the planning part.

You are amazing, seriously.

Our week went like this:

Sunday - ward activity leftovers.
Monday - Deanna's crock pot chicken
Tuesday - Little Caesar's
Wednesday - Nothing. (Not even kidding on this one.) I think my sister took the kids to Taco Bell.
Thursday - Godfather's

May tonight and tomorrow prove healthier.

In a month or so, I hope to be able to contribute in a positive manner.

M. Spaghetti, cheesy G. bread, garden salad.
T. Cheesy Broccoli Potatoes
W. Stuffing/Rice/Chicken Casserole, steamed broccoli, cantelope.
T. Caesar Wraps
F. Ice Cream Crepes
S. Date night - with the girls :)
S. Creamy Chicken Enchiladas, garden salad, steamed corn.

And the book is: What's for Dinner? by Jana Shofield
and it looks like it's not a full year but "Over six months" worth. Whatever it is - it's more than I have planned! The recipes look really yummy AND she has a dessert for every day's menu.

Huh, our week wasn't too great either. And I actually tried to plan some meals before I went to the grocery store, but alas, I still didn't make very many this week. I don't really have any good excuses.

Monday -- Chicken Enchilada Casserole
Tuesday -- Rice and Bean soup (really yummy and easy to throw together)
Wednesday -- Um, toast, I think.
Thursday -- Stromboli sandwiches (this is a HUGE favorite in my family. I will have to send you the recipe)
Friday -- mac and cheese for the kids; adults got a yummy meal prepared by someone else at a party
Saturday -- popcorn and licorice at the 5:00 matinee. I'm not kidding; we're all full, so I'm not making dinner.
